GMP-Certified Facility

Manufacturing capabilities meeting international quality standards

MCI Santé Animale operates a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility designed and managed in accordance with the highest international quality and biosafety standards.

Our production facility is GMP-certified by nine regulatory authorities and regions worldwide, including European GMP certification. All vaccines and pharmaceutical products are manufactured under rigorous quality systems, ensuring safety, efficacy, consistency, and compliance with internationally recognised regulatory requirements.

The facility integrates advanced production, quality control, and research infrastructure, including BSL-3 virology and bacteriology laboratories, ABSL-3 animal premises for safety and efficacy testing, and a dedicated vaccine pilot formulation unit.

MCI's manufacturing platform encompasses a broad range of biological technologies, including cell culture, bioreactor production, embryonated egg technology, bacterial fermentation, and freeze-drying processes. These capabilities enable the development and production of high-quality vaccines for major livestock diseases, supporting sustainable animal health programmes.

Partnerships

Working with global, regional, and national animal health stakeholders

At MCI Santé Animale, partnerships are central to our mission of improving animal health and livestock productivity. We work closely with governments, international organisations, research institutions, development partners, distributors, and private-sector stakeholders to expand access to high-quality veterinary solutions and strengthen animal health systems worldwide.

By combining scientific expertise, manufacturing capabilities, and local market knowledge, we help translate innovation into practical solutions that address field needs and support sustainable livestock development.

Global and Regional Partnerships

MCI collaborates with international and regional organisations, animal health authorities, research centres, and industry partners to support disease prevention, vaccine access, capacity building, and market development initiatives.

These partnerships enable the exchange of expertise, the implementation of joint programmes, and the development of innovative solutions adapted to regional priorities and livestock production systems.

Capacity building and technology transfer

Strengthening local capabilities is a key component of MCI's partnership approach.

Through collaboration with public institutions and development partners, we provide technical training in vaccine production, quality control, biosafety, and regulatory systems. We also support technology transfer initiatives, public-private partnerships, and institutional strengthening programmes that contribute to building sustainable and resilient animal health systems.

Supporting global disease control programmes

MCI actively contributes to international efforts aimed at the prevention, control, and eventual eradication of major transboundary animal diseases.

As part of its commitment to the Global Programme for the control and eradication of Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR), MCI supplies a PPR vaccine that is selected for the WOAH PPR Vaccine Bank and registered with FAO, supporting vaccination campaigns and disease control initiatives in affected countries.

MCI also contributes to the control of other priority livestock diseases through its sheep and goat pox and lumpy skin disease (LSD) vaccines, both of which are registered with FAO.

Africa Strategy

A long-term commitment to animal health in Africa

Africa is home to one-third of the world's livestock and accounts for approximately 40% of agricultural GDP generated by the livestock sector. Recognising both the continent's potential and the challenges facing animal health systems, MCI Santé Animale has developed a dedicated Africa Plan aimed at expanding access to high-quality vaccines and veterinary solutions.

By working with distributors, veterinary service providers, producer organisations, governments, and development partners, MCI strengthens distribution networks, enhances last-mile delivery, builds local capacity, and promotes vaccine adoption to support sustainable livestock development across the continent.
